Fluid Structure Interaction (FSI)

In order to analyze fluid induced stresses within a structure, a Fluid Structure Interaction (FSI) method is used. The FSI can be a two-way FSI consisting of one analysis linking CFD and FEA together in an iterative manner or a one-way FSI where the CFD and FEA are solved separately.
